What is Bethel?Members of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star worship in a ‘Bethel’ (as opposed to what others called churches) as in Genesis 28:16-19 [KJV] [16] And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. [17] And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. [18] And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. [19] And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. The true meaning of Church is 'body of a person, which is where God dwells, and not a building or premises'. These Bethels have their own names depending on the location or the name of the area where it is built e.g., Elephant & Castle Bethel London, Manchester Bethel, Mill Hill Bethel London, or Soweto Bethel South Africa, and so on. Bethels of the BCS are opened 24hours a day, 7days a week, every year from January to December.

Why BCS praise God through natural SongsBrotherhood of the Cross and Star do not use any kind of musical instrument. All songs are rendered with our lips (a cappella). Hebrew 13: 15-16 [KJV] “By Him therefore let us offer the Sacrifice of Praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name…for with such sacrifices God is pleased” The Holy Father in His Wisdom permits the use of Organ at the Brotherhood World Headquarters and all BCS formations to enhance accurate tunes and keys during rendition of BCS Hymns and special songs.

What is StarThe Star is the glory of God revealed to all His children who have carried the Cross successfully as Our Lord Jesus Christ did and received the glory. The Star means the brightness of God and the power of His reign. The Star is the peace of the Almighty God that governs the universe. No material wealth can bring us the promised glory. We have to carry our Cross and get into it. Our tears, tribulations and woes have ended at the Cross. If we bear the Cross all will be sunshine for us forever. The door to the Kingdom of heaven is open to those who are willing to take up the glory – Star.

What is Brotherhood of the Cross and StarBrotherhood means oneness. God and everything created by Him put together is Brotherhood. You do not need to say, “I want to be Brotherhood”. Everyone is Brotherhood. Brotherhood has no origin. It has no beginning and it has no end, except such a person wants to know the origin of God. God is Love. Brotherhood therefore means the unity of all creatures of God bounded by love. Who owns Brotherhood? It is God who owns it, rules and leads it. But Christ takes charge. The disobedience of Adam in the Garden of Eden caused the division in the history of Brotherhood. The fact that we had scattered because of the disobedience of Adam does not mean that we are no more in Brotherhood. God is still reigning over His people. The shedding of the Blood of Christ means the making of peace for all the scattered brethren. This peace clears the way for all to come together again in the same fold in Brotherhood.

Why we do not wear shoes into the Bethel? It is the doctrine of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star not to wear shoes into the Bethels or the house of worship, in recognition and reverence of the holiness and presence of God. Exodus 3:5 [KJV] [5] And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Acts 7: 33 [KJV] [33] Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground. Romans 10: 15 [KJV] [15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! John 4:23-24 [KJV] [23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

What is CrossCross means bearing another person’s burden without complaining. It relates to the suffering endured by those who have undertaken to follow the way of Christ. The ability to tolerate all manners of evil doers or sinners, though you may know that the nearer you go the more death stares at you, yet you are giving them life. Finally the power of life in you will kill the evil ways in them and you will have given them life. This is carrying the cross. To be able to carry the Cross you must resign yourself completely to God. You must be loving, humble, patience, tolerating and must not be envious. If Our Lord Jesus Christ did not possess these qualities, He could not have carried the Cross. When you are accused falsely and you bless such a person; when one assassinates your character and you bless him; when one hates you without reason and you bless him; when you do not complain for being painted black; when you go on your knees to ask God to forgive your enemies whole-heartedly, you are carrying the Cross.

What is BCS Mode of Dressing? The official uniform of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the White Garment with Cape, known as the ‘Soutane’ in conformity with Our Lord Jesus Christ revelation to John the Divine saying: ….And one of the Elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in White Robes? And Whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the Blood of The Lamb. Therefore are they before the Throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His Temple; and He that sitteth on The Throne shall dwell among them” Revelation 7: 13-15 [KJV] Brothers and Sisters use the same uniform, although the Sisters additionally have white head ties.

Why is BCS Mode of Greetings ‘Peace of the Father’?"Peace of the Father", “Perfect Peace", Peace be unto this house or "Peace be unto you;" constitute the general greetings of BCS members irrespective of the time or occasion. Peace is a heavenly language. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. He used the same greetings of "Peace" and His disciples followed suit in their evangelism, and after His ascension. Isaiah 9:6 [KJV] [6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 20: 19 & 26 [KJV] [19] Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. [26] And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Matthew 10: 12-13 [KJV] [12] And when ye come into a house, salute it. [13] And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

Why Knocking Head on The Ground?Brotherhood of the Cross and Star members kneel, bow and knock their head on the ground three successive times in reverence to the Holy Trinity God ((The Father, Son and Holy Spirit), before and after prayers or at any time, place or occasion whenever the spirit directs. Knocking of head is a very vital and effective part of communication with God; it is akin to a dialing tone or knocking on the door before going in. Matthew 26:39 [KJV] [39] And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 1Corinthians 14:25 [KJV] [25] And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. Rev 7:11 [KJV] [11] And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God
